VDL Groep Marico

VDL Groep Marico was bred by Stal Burg and she has proven herself in the international sport with Leopold van Asten. Her great quality as a showjumper didn’t come out of the blue. Sire Jalisco B is one of the most important top stallions of France. He was very successful at Grand Prix-level, he won many Grand Prix and participated at the Olympic Games in 1988. Famous top sport- and breeding stallions like Dollar du Murier, Papillon Rouge, Quidam de Revel and Fuego du Prelet are sons of the influential Jalisco B.

Damsire Grand Veneur has also proven himself as a very valuable breeding stallion. VDL Groep Marico is bred out of the mare Valse de la Croix, who was a good showjumper too. As a 5yr old she was highly placed at the final of the French championship in Fontainebleau. She also is dam of the excellent Grand Prix-showjumper VDL Groep Sapphire B (s.Mr. Blue), who performed very well with Maikel van der Vleuten. Besides that Valse de la Croix is granddam of the approved stallions Malito de Reves (s.Cumano) and the international jumper Hermes de Reve (s.Quito de Baussy). Marico’s granddam also sired the international performing stallion Cacao Courcelle (s. Jalisco B) who was ridden by Thomas Velin.

VDL Groep Marico received the KWPN ‘sport-predicate’. In 2015 we had to say goodbye to Marico.
